New community members appointed to 91制片厂 Board of Governors

91制片厂 is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Governors, and the re-appointment of four returning board members.
Community representatives Amanda Louie, Allan Louis and Carollynn Schafer joined the Board in May after each being appointed by the Province for terms ending July 31, 2026.
Board Chair Dale Safinuk was re-appointed for a one-year term, while fellow board members Gurjit Chand and Sheri Hamilton were each re-appointed for further two-year terms, and Dustyn Baulkham was re-appointed for a three-year term.
鈥淥n behalf of 91制片厂, I鈥檓 thrilled to welcome Amanda, Allan and Carollynn to our Board of Governors and to congratulate the returning board members who have been re-appointed,鈥 said Safinuk. 鈥淥ur Board is made up of an incredible group of individuals with valuable skills and significant experience. We work together to advance the College鈥檚 strategic direction, and we make our decisions with current and future students in mind 鈥 they are at the centre of what we seek to achieve as a Board. It is a privilege to be a part of the 91制片厂 community, which has for over 60 years made high-quality education and training available to learners, and in doing so, supported the communities throughout the Okanagan region.鈥
Joining the board for the first time are:
Amanda Louie. Amanda is a Senior Finance Officer for BC First Nations Gaming Revenue Sharing who is passionate about empowering First Nations communities. She is an 91制片厂 alumni who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the College and has spent the past decade working in various financial positions with First Nations organizations including the Westbank First Nation and Osoyoos Indian Band.
Allan Louis. Allan is an eight-time Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) councilor, and serves as a council member on the First Nations Health Council. He is appointed to the Assembly of First Nations Chiefs Committee on Health, is the Chair of the Indigenous Education Committee for School District 22 and is also on the Board of Directors for Interior Health.
Carollynn Schafer. Carollynn is an ecosystem builder, angel investor and legal professional with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) in social history from the University of Manitoba and a law degree from the University of Victoria. She is heavily involved in the innovation ecosystem in the Okanagan, acting as a General Partner of OKGN WMAN, a director of the Okanagan Angel Summit and Interim CEO and now Investor in Residence at Accelerate Okanagan.
The 91制片厂 Board of Governors is responsible for the management, administration and control of the property, revenue, expenditures, business and affairs of the institution. The Board meets on a quarterly basis.
